Sustainable Design

sustainable design architect

When designing for minimal environmental impact and reduced energy usage, our geography and climate provide unique challenges. Before the availability of today's sustainable technologies, our firm was creating smart, common sense solutions that encouraged energy efficiency in our region.

We keep abreast of current trends and environmental issues that affect our community. As such, we are implementing contemporary and climate-appropriate solutions such as photovoltaics and native landscapes.

Our firm is committed to incorporating sustainable principles into each our projects, regardless if formal certification is sought-after. We are dedicated to continually explore ways in which our designs can have a minimal impact on the environment, while affecting the people that use them in a positive way.

In recent years, our firm has designed a number of notable firsts in the state of Florida:

1st LEED Gold nursing home
Clyde E. Lassen State Veterans Nursing Home

1st LEED Silver middle school
Punta Gorda Middle School

1st LEED Silver public health clinic
Umatilla Public Health Clinic

1st LEED Certified building in the state college system and the first LEED Silver building in Broward County
South Regional/Broward College Library

1st full campus LEED certified public high school in the Southeastern United States
Charlotte High School
