J.D. Parker School of Math, Science and Technology
School Board of Martin County | 126,288 SF | 2005
J.D. Parker School of Math, Science and Technology is a 126,288 square foot school with 750 student stations. The school was designed to serve as a replacement for the original Caloosa Elementary School.
Caloosa Elementary was a two-story building that housed all classrooms under one roof. Harvard Jolly designed J.D. Parker in a similar fashion; however the classrooms were modified to honor Florida's Class Size Reduction Amendment. J.D. Parker's classrooms remained approximately 900 to 950 square feet, but house only 18-22 students per class.
The entire building is designed to be an emergency shelter when needed.
